This photo depicts a newborn baby getting his heartbeat checked. It somewhat shows the element of proportion showing how the baby is tiny compared to the man's hand. Also adding to that, the tape measure in the left hand corner shows how small it really is. His facial expression gives the picture a positive feeling because he looks happy even though it's probably just because the stethoscope is cold.
This photograph represents the element of silhouette. The image captures 6 soldiers on a hill probably after combat. The light in the back perfectly defines the soldiers' figures and guns. Apart from being an element of photography, this is a very powerful image that symbolizes triumph and victory for these men. Their poses are also very interesting because each one is in a very different, yet similar stance.
In this photograph, Ansel Adams uses elements such as line, contrast, and texture to create an image that really speaks to its viewer. The lines create a vanishing point that leads to the beautiful mountain background. The bushes in this picture have great texture, making the image “pop.” Contrast in the plants created by lighting makes a somewhat natural gradient and makes some of the workers appear darker, also creating a silhouette. Although it may seem irrelevant, the icy tips of mountains, in my opinion, show the true beauty of nature. Overall, this image captures the hard work or people working out in the fields in a lovely, creative way.
